Ralph was born in Northwest Detroit and graduated from St. Mary
Redford High School. He attended Marquette University in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin and the University of Detroit. During the Korean conflict he was
assigned to the 3450th USAF hospital at Francis E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne,
Wyoming. Ralph is the father of six children and has twelve grandchildren.
His hobbies include golf, woodcraft projects and services as a volunteer for
several senior organizations. He and his wife Gail, like to travel whenever
they have the opportunity.
Before his becoming a board officer, he participated on the
planning and social committees and assisted at the golf outings.

He hired in at Michigan Blue Cross as a Systems Analyst for
Hospital Computer Services. The department established a shared computer
system for hospital billing and other financial applications. As a hospital
consultant, he trained hospital personnel on the installation,
implementation and use of the financial applications.
Ralph retired from the Blues in 1988 and has been a stalwart member
of the Retiree Association Board since becoming a member. We wish him well
in his new role as President of this very active group.
