Retirees visit The Palace of Auburn Hills for tour and lunch on February 7, 2001

Twenty BCBSM retirees learn first hand how a world class event and sports facility operates.

The Palace tour was an eye opener for those who participated. Narrowed to groups of six or seven, the retirees were taken to locker rooms, training rooms, offices, media facilities, personal suites, storage and staging locations, the arena floor and a special Palace memento & highlight area.

Everyone was surprised at the multiple pieces of coordination necessary to put an event before the public. There was plenty of time for questions and the buffet lunch in the private dining area that followed the tour was most delightful also.

One of the interesting facts from the tour - "How high up the Shower heads were in the basketball players locker rooms".

No one went home disappointed from this retiree event!
