2012 DSO Morning
Concert
A small group or Retiree Association
members and guests enjoyed the Detroit Symphony Orchestra concert, entitled
"Ravishing Rachmaninoff" at the Max M Fisher Music Center on Woodward Avenue in
Detroit. The morning began with complimentary coffee and donuts before the
concert, served both on the main entrance floor and on the third-floor
mezzanine, near where the seats were located. The seating location offered
a great view of the beautiful architecture and the entire orchestra plus
splendid acoustics. Included in the concert were Sergei Rachmaninoff's
"Symphonic Dances, OP 45"; Dmitri Shostakivich's "Violin Concerto No, 1 in A
minor, Op 99; and Cindy McTee's "Einstein's Dream." Afterwards, some attendees enjoyed lunch at the
close-by popular restaurant, Traffic Jam.
