2011 Spring Luncheon

A dense fog welcomed those first to arrive at this year's spring luncheon.  As the day progressed, the sky opened up and a view of Lake St. Clair and colorful spring flowers were visible from the beautiful Grosse Pointe War Memorial ballroom.  The sit-down lunch featuring one's choice of a salmon or beef tips entree was scrumptious, finished perfectly with Key lime pie.  After lunch, our own Association member, Debra Pawlak, provided highlights about her new book, "Bringing Up Oscar," which tells the story of the people who developed the Academy Awards.  Once again, participants showed their generosity by donating over $300 to charity through a 50/50 raffle.  Winners were: Karen Stecher ($175), Mary Jean Speck ($100) and Geri Wojczynski ($60).  Pictures below are partial.
