| 2011 Annual Membership Meeting & LunchThis year's meeting, held October 20 at Summit in the Park in Canton, Mich., was one of the most informative - and lively - ever! Attendees first enjoyed a continental breakfast and socializing before the business portion of the meeting got under way. Annual reports, including our financial status and general updates were followed by the election of the 2012 officers. They are Ray Newak, President; John McCrary, Vice President; Marie Bjerke, Secretary and Joyce Obenhoff, Treasurer. Things really heated up after guest speaker, John Dowsley, Senior Markets Consultant at BCBCS, provided an informative overview of Medicare and Medicare Advantage changes. It became quite obvious that more than a few Association members were confused and had unanswered questions relative to their coverage. Dowsley agreed to take questions, and the names of individuals asking them, back to the company for answers. The lively discussion made everyone more than ready for the buffet lunch that followed.
